Flashback: 1989 Snowball Derby

{nl}           20 years ago, a 31 year old driver out of Mobile, Alabama came to Penascola for his shot at the Snowball Derby. His name was Rick Crawford.     Crawford, a former track champion at Five Flags Speedway and Mobile International Speedway, found his way to victory lane that year. And from there, the rest is history. In 1997, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series came calling, and Crawford answered. 1978 Snowball Derby

{nl}      The year was 1978 when a young 23 year old driver out of Maylene, Alabama came to Pensacola to conquer the Snowball Derby.  His name was Dave Mader, III. And on that night, he sat on top of the racing world, winning the 11th Annual Snowball Derby.     As usual, becoming a Derby Champion launched Mader’s racing Career. Flashback: Gene Morgan

{nl}      Born in Simpsonville, S.C., Gene Morgan won his first and only Snowball Derby in 1982. In that same year, Morgan participated in the inaugural Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway. In that race, Morgan qualified 6th, but was unable to finish near the top as clutch problems ended his day early.     Morgan was a multi-time track champion throughout the country, including winning the 1982 Track Championship at Greenville-Pickens Speedway where Ralph Earnhardt was a 2 time track champion.      […]
