Nemechek Feels No Pressure to Repeat as Snowball Champ

Not many people were focused on John Hunter Nemechek one year ago at the 47th Annual Snowball Derby.  The questions going into the race surrounded drivers such as Bubba Pollard, Chase Elliott and Erik Jones.  Nemechek wasn’t exactly an underdog, but he definitely wasn’t a favorite either.

Pensacola Beef O’ Brady’s to Host Snowball Derby Kick-Off Party

Snowball Derby week will get a fun sendoff with good food and top short track racers mingling with fans during the 7th Annual Snowball Derby Kick-Off Party presented by Anderson’s Maple Syrup on Tuesday, December 1.

The Kickoff Party will once again be held at Tracy Goodson’s Beef ‘O’ Brady’s restaurant location on 22 S. Thorn More Prepared Than Ever for Snowball Derby Success

Last year Derek Thorn’s Snowball Derby week nearly hit rock bottom before it turned around for a third-place finish.


After two successful days of testing early in the week, things took a turn on Thursday afternoon, the first official practice day.  Thorn picked up a bad vibration his first time out and the team thrashed all afternoon to get it fixed.  Finally, several hours later, the problem was detected and fixed and Thorn went on to post the fastest time in happy hour practice.

Pair of Modified Drivers Eyeing History at Snowball Derby

Clark Hopes to Represent Northeast Well at Derby

After a seven-year absence from the Snowball Derby, Farmington, Maine’s Cassius Clark will return to Five Flags Speedway (FL) for the 48th running of the prestigious Super Late Model event this December.


Clark, who pocketed $31,100 for winning a 250-lap race at Speedway 660 (NB) earlier this season, will be driving the Rollie MacDonald-owned No. 13 that he’s experienced success with during the latter part of the 2015 season.

Racers competing in the 48th Annual Snowball Derby will be searching for a little luck and having a whole lot of fun during the Cat Country/WEAR TV3 Green Flag Pit Party on Wednesday, December 2.  The party, which is free to attend, will serve as the official kickoff to Snowball Derby weekend at Five Flags Speedway (FL) and give race fans their best opportunity of the week to mingle with drivers.

Rico Heading to Five Flags Seeking Snowball Derby Glory

In January, Rico Abreu piloted a dirt Midget to victory lane inside the River Spirit Expo Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Chili Bowl.  In July he drove a stock car to the win in a NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race on pavement at Ohio’s Columbus Motor Speedway.  In December, Abreu will be driving a Super Late Model in the 48th Annual Snowball Derby at Pensacola, Florida’s Five Flags Speedway.
