Don’t blink, you’ll miss something The winged sprints…simply put a very powerful engine on a very light race car designed to go very fast. They make their only appearance of the year here on Friday July 10th. The cars are unique…they feature a wing that looks like the open bed of a mini pick up on the roof that moves back and forward to shift the “bite” from the front to the rear tires, while they are driving. Johanna Long won her second Blizzard Series feature of the season Friday night, starting on the pole and leading 84 of 100 laps at Five Flags Speedway. The 17-year-old continued to show her talent before an approving crowd. “It was amazing,” she said. “This is one of the best race cars I’ve ever had.” But the win was not without some excitement.
