Sep 23, 2009 - Super Stock Championship

     It’s so close Randy can see it.  Just one really big race he has to win, and it is this Friday night. Randy Thompson, who has dominated the Sportsmen Division for several years moved up to try the Super Stocks this year, while still wheeling the Sportsmen car.
 
     He is just 20 points from winning 2 championship jackets this year, an unheard of accomplishment …two track championships in the same year.  Twice as much shop work, but Randy has his family to help, and sponsors too.
 
   But 20 points…that means he has to finish 7 places ahead of Shannon Jackson, from Pascagoula, MS.  You don’t think that Shannon will let that happen do you?
 
   Shannon has won championships here before, and was so strong a few years ago that the track put a bounty on him, a bonus if you could break the Jackson juggernaut.
 
   So it’s down to the last race, and the 20 point cushion that Shannon has at the green flag. He will be driving to beat only one car, the 42 of Thompson.  Only one championship trophy has been ordered, and we will know who gets it Friday night.
