Five Flags Speedway
The 5 Flags / Daytona Connection
5 Flags Speedway drivers made their presence known in the Daytona Beach area during Speedweeks, with 2 of NASCAR’s top divisions now being led by recent Snowball Derby participants. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series heads to Phoenix this week with former Snowball Derby Winner Clay Rogers leading the points standings. Rogers finished 31st at the 2010 Derby. And Landon Cassill, who finished 4th in the Derby, has left Daytona on top of the NASCAR Nationwide Series points standings
And speaking of the 2010 Snowball, hometown girl Johanna Long carried her race winning momentum to the NCWTS for her Daytona debut. After a stellar qualifying effort, and a very admirable start, her Daytona inauguration dealt her Panhandle Motorsports team a blow by being victim of a turn 4 crash. She now heads to Phoenix for race # 2. Additionally, former 5 Flags winners Grant Enfinger and Hal Martin made very strong showings in the Daytona ARCA Series event.
5 Flags Speedway is very proud and wishes to congratulate these drivers who have moved up the racing ladder. And, we are looking forward to a great 2011 season to see who will emerge as the next Superstar!!
