Tall Task for Goraum to Repeat Historic Championship Run

Mike Goraum hails from nearby Cantonment, but he seemingly spent more time in Victory Lane at Five Flags Speedway than his own home last year.

Goraum posted an unprecedented 10 wins to take home the Butler U-Pull-It Bombers class track championship by more than 200 points. He also captured the division’s coveted Snowball Derby crown.

The Butler U-Pull-It Bomber Division hadn’t seen dominance to that degree in quite some time. Each Friday feature seemed like a foregone conclusion when Goraum’s blue No. 5 got on the track.

It will be hard for history to repeat itself with Goraum taking on extra driving duties this season. He will steer close friend’s Steve Buttrick’s No. 33 Sportsman car when Buttrick races his new Modified ride on the same nights.

With so much parity among the other Butler U-Pull-It Bomber drivers, this season’s championship chase figures to be much more spirited from start to finish.

The Butler U-Pull-It Bombers begin their 14-race slate Friday night.
