Practicing for a Stock Car Race has taken on new meaning. But this is... The Snowball Derby!! The Snowball Derby Preview, the annual practice day for the 46 year old short track extravaganza, will this year offer cash rewards for the drivers recording the fastest laps of the day in their respective divisions. This years Preview, scheduled for Saturday, November 23rd, offers drivers a full day of test and tune opportunities. Additionally, a full staff of tech officials will be on hand to inspect cars and answer questions. Hoosier tires and Sunoco fuel will be available. The fastest Super Late Model of the day will receive $500, while the fastest Allen Turner Pro Late Model will receive $300. Open Wheel Modified, Super Stock, Pro Truck, and Sportsman fast timers will each receive $150, while the fastest Bomber lap of the day will be worth $100. All cars, except Bombers, will be required to have transponders installed to monitor times. Transponders will be available for a $20 rental fee. Cars not wishing to compete for Fast Time money are not required to have the electronic timing devices. The gates will open on the 23rd at 8am. Practice will begin at 9am and conclude at 8pm. Divisions will be rotated throughout the day. Pit admission will be $15 per person, while grandstand admission will be free. Concession stands will be open in both areas.
