HUSBAND AND WIFE TEAM CITED FOR EXTRA EFFORTS DURING THE YEAR

The Ironman Award, given to the worker who goes above and beyond, was
presented to Charlie and Waynetta Head, at the annual Awards Banquet on
Saturday the 12th. They were lauded by track manager Tim Bryant for their
tireless efforts during the season that contributed to making racers have a
better experience at the track. Charlie performs various duties in the pits
during the race including operating stop and go in turn 1. Waynetta is the
first to greet drivers as they sign in for their wrist bands prior to entering the
pits.
Both have worked at the track for many years, Waynetta is the daughter of the
late Wayne Niedecken, winner of the first Snowball Derby 45 years ago.
The Rex Brooks Ironman award has been given for the past 8 years in memory of
Brooks who devoted many extra hours to the speedway.
