S.E.A.L. Crate Engine Reminder
A program protecting the integrity of asphalt Crate Late Model Racing, first proposed by the Sealed Engine Alliance Leaders (S.E.A.L) in early 2012, has reached formality and will take effect beginning mid season in 2014. This rule will be imposed by various organizations including the JEGS/CRA All Star Tour presented by Chevrolet Performance and many Southern tracks under the direction of Tech Inspector Ricky Brooks. The rule is stated below:“Engines rebuilt and sealed by approved and recognized rebuilders from 2011-2013 will be permitted in competition at the beginning of 2014, and are still subject to THESE rules and their intent. After June 30, 2014 re-built engines must have seals from a re-builder on the S.E.A.L. approved list or carry a 25 lb penalty. Seals on all engines must remain in place and be unaltered.
