BY THE NUMBERS: ALLEN TURNER SNOWFLAKE 100 AT FIVE FLAGS

Before the Super Late Model drivers shine in the spotlight during the 50th Annual Snowball Derby, Pro Late Model racers will take center stage during Saturday night’s Snowflake 100 at Five Flags Speedway. We look at the biggest Pro Late Model race of the year in this edition of “By the Numbers.

3: Augie Grill and Chase Elliott are the only three-time winners of the Allen Turner Snowflake 100.

4: The race is a four-tire event. In years past, it was a six-tire race. However, the tires and the track have been conditioned since then.

7: Grand American Race Cars have won seven of the last eight Snowflake 100s.

11: Augie Grill and Bubba Pollard have each made 10 starts coming into this year’s Snowflake 100. They have a combined 12 top-10 finishes.

18: Casey Roderick is the current track champion at Five Flags Speedway in the Pro Late Model division. He won every race this year and hopes to end the season with a Snowflake 100 win.

24: A total of 24 drivers finished on the lead lap in the 2016 Allen Turner Snowflake 100. You need to be there at the end, and last year a lot of people finished the full distance.

26: A pair of drivers with the No. 26 could find success in the Snowflake 100. Youngster Chandler Smith who third last year and veteran Bubba Pollard are considered favorites.

30: The top 30 drivers will lock into the race on time on Saturday.

57: As of Thanksgiving week, a total of 57 drivers have filed entries for the Snowflake 100.

70: The average car count for this race in the last 10 years is just north of 70. Its peak was 2007 when 91 names were on the entry list. That year, 68 drivers took time. The race is always a popular tune-up for the Snowball Derby.

100: The feature event is a 100-lap dash for the Pro Late Models

412: A total of 412 drivers have their name of the driver roster. This only counts back to 1999 when the race earned the name “Snowflake.

1983: The first “Snowflake type race was held in 1983 when Rick Crawford won the 30-lap feature for local Late Model drivers who did not want to run the extra-distance Snowball Derby.

$7,000: The winner’s share of the Snowflake 100 is $7,000.

Not the Pole: Only Chase Elliott has won the Snowflake from the pole dating back to 2006. It’s not the place to start if you are looking to win the race.

Dedication: Elliott Massey has tried his hand at the Snowflake every year dating back to 2008. He has two starts and several DNQs. We give credit where credit is due because they keep coming back each year.

Still No Double: No driver has won the Snowflake and the Snowball on the same weekend.
