$25,000 Back to Front Bonus Announced for Snowball Derby
Story by Speed51.com

Along with being the most prestigious event in Super Late Model racing, the Snowball Derby pays $25,000 to win.  One driver could now double those winnings if they are willing to bet on themselves on Sunday, December 6.

Phoenix Construction has stepped up to provide a $25,000 bonus opportunity for one driver during the 53rd Annual Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway.  The fastest driver in qualifying during Friday’s Country Pleasin’ Pole Night will score a $1,000 prize for claiming the pole – and then will have a tough decision to make.

But that decision will not be known until just prior to the green flag on Sunday.

During driver introductions for the 53rd Annual Snowball Derby, the polesitter will be offered a shot at the $25,000 Back to Front Challenge presented by Phoenix Construction.  Should the pole sitter accept the challenge, they will forfeit the pole and start from the last starting position on the grid.  If they can win from the rear of the field, they will earn the $25,000 bonus on top of the first-place prize money.

“This bonus opportunity will certainly make for some interesting conversation after Friday night’s qualifying,â€? said Five Flags Speedway owner Tim Bryant.  â€œMy guess is the polesitter will change his mind several times between Friday and Sunday. A $50,000 payday would influence most for sure, even though the Tom Dawson Trophy is the ultimate prize.

“We just want to thank James Finch of Phoenix Construction for stepping up on this. It proves once again that he is ‘all in’ when it comes to short track racing.

Only the Country Pleasin’ Pole Winner will be eligible for the Back to Front Challenge presented by Phoenix Construction.

Race fans will be able to watch this year’s 53rd Annual Snowball Derby live on Speed51.TV. More information about the broadcast will be announced soon.
