Entries Now Open For Snowflake 100 During Snowball Derby
$10,000 Awaits the Winner of the 26th Annual Allen Turner Snowflake 100
Entry Form now available
The 2024 edition of the Allen Turner Snowflake 100 will be a historic one. This will be the 25th time the Snowflake 100 is a part of the Snowball Derby weekend. Originally tabbed as a Super Late Model show in October of 1999, it quickly shifted to Snowball Week in 2000 as an option for weekly Super Late Model drivers who could not afford the Sunday show.
The event migrated to Pro Late Models in 2005 and has since been one of the marquee events for the crate Late Model class. This year the race will pay $10,000 to the winner, but it’s behind the winner where you can see a purse increase with $5,000 on the line for second and $3,000 to finish on the podium. The start money for the event has also increased to $750.
“The competition for the Pro Late Models has been top-notch ever since they came onto the scene a few years ago,” said Five Flags Speedway pit stewart Steve Stokes. “Sometimes we get to see drivers who will become Snowball Derby regulars or future NASCAR stars. They have to get out there and mix it up with our local drivers and the best in the region whose Snowball Derby is actually on Saturday night.
Hunter Robbins won the first Pro Late Model Snowflake in 2005 and he was the winner in 2024. He is the fifth driver to win the race more than once. Other drivers who have won the race more than once include Augie Grill and NASCAR Champion Chase Elliott, they each have three wins. Also, Bubba Pollard and Derek Thorn have won the race twice.
Snowball Derby week gets underway on Wednesday, December 4th with the annual parking of the team transporters and pit party. Late Model teams, both Pro and Super Late Model, will draw for qualifying positions at the stage on the front stretch. The order of draw will be determined by the order of entry.
Thursday will see the first on-track action of the busy weekend when the Super Late Models and the Pro Late Models will hit the track for a full morning and afternoon of practice. Later that night the Sportsman, Pure Stocks, and Pro Trucks will take to the track for their feature events.
Fast Friday will see more practice for the Super Late Models and the Pro Late Models leading up to time trials for the 57th Annual Snowball Derby at 6 pm CT. The top 30 drivers will lock themselves into the field for Sunday’s main event. The nightcap will feature the Modified of Mayhem 2024 Championship Race, plus a Crown Stock Invitational. Saturday is by far the busiest day at the track with practice in the morning for the Late Models before the Allen Turner Snowflake 100 cars take to the track in the mid-afternoon. Following time trials the last chance races for the Snowflake 100 and the 57th Annual Snowball Derby will occur. The 21st Annual Allen Turner Snowflake 100 will roll at 7pm, followed by the Outlaw Division.
It all leads to Sunday, the 57th running of the Snowball Derby. Green Flag will be at 1 pm CT for the 300-lap Super Late Model event.
